immersed in water, it dissolves back into fibers and can be pulled into life once again.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span data-sheets-root=\"1\">This transformation is not a flaw but a subtle trace of the time the material has held.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span data-sheets-root=\"1\">I grew up in Fukui, surrounded by washi from an early age.<br \/>\nI remember returning torn paper to water and reshaping it into something new\u2014<br \/>\na childhood experience that quietly engraved in me the sense of \u201creturning, changing, and being born again.\u201d<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span data-sheets-root=\"1\">Washi does not disappear when it breaks;
