We sort out flawed objects as “defective objects” in the hope that the flaws will disappear. However, flaws are the marks of individualities that have been etched by time and experiences. It is a tactile reality that cannot be found in the digital world.
In a world where photocopied mass-production promises uniform quality, it is unacceptable to produce products with uneven appearances.
Even in cloth production, which began with hand-weaving in the past, even a slight flaw is now unacceptable.
By looking at the value of flaws, we thought it would be a good opportunity to consider various ways of being that are sought after today.
I expressed garments in which flaws become patterns and individualities shine through.
