To express this idea, MAISUZKI expanded the traditional technique of “”Kumiko,”” which creates patterns by combining pieces of wood without using nails, and used the one and only “”3D Kumiko technique.”” By using different colors on the surface of each piece, she created a wearable art piece that looks different depending on the angle. When people wear this piece, the aim is to create new perspectives through the chance visual changes that occur between people and objects, and between people.
If we can discover new perspectives on things and people, surely the fun of life can expand beyond 360 degrees? This is the idea that is embodied in this work.
